The University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) was founded in 1999 in Iserlohn, Germany — and celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2024, a quarter century of shaping creative and entrepreneurial leaders. Today UE operates across four campuses in Germany — Berlin (Art & Design focus, 100% English), Hamburg (Business & Sport focus), Potsdam (UE Innovation Hub, Tech & Digital — on the SAP Think Campus), and Iserlohn (Health & Sport, UE's founding campus) — plus an international campus in Dubai, UAE, delivering German degrees in the Middle East for the first time.

UE is state-recognised and accredited by the state of Brandenburg and the German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat). All programmes are accredited by FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) and Germany's ZEvA (Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency). In February 2021, UE received FIBAA System Accreditation — the highest possible form of accreditation in the German university sector, held by only a handful of private institutions in Germany. This means UE can award FIBAA quality seals for programmes it audits itself, confirming the exceptional strength of its internal quality management. Degrees from UE are formally equivalent to those of German state universities.

UE has been rated 5 out of 5 stars by the Globis/STERN survey (2024/25) as one of the best further education providers in Germany. U-Multirank has ranked UE in the top 25 worldwide for international orientation and among the top 10 in Europe for Business Studies. The student community represents more than 120 nationalities — one of the most diverse in Europe — with approximately 4,600+ students currently enrolled across campuses in Germany. Employment outcomes are outstanding: 68% of UE students are employed before graduation, and 93% find employment within 12 months of graduating, confirmed on ue-germany.com.

UE is part of the Global University Systems (GUS) network — which includes GISMA University, Arden University, and many others worldwide. Exclusive industry partnerships include Borussia Dortmund (BVB) — UE has been BVB's official university partner since 1 July 2022, offering BVB scholarships covering 100% of tuition fees. All Berlin campus programmes are taught 100% in English. Free German language courses (up to B2.2) are available for international students. Graduates qualify for Germany's 18-month post-study work visa.
